This original portion of the Brinn House may date back to the 1850s when it was owned by John Davis, a partner at the nearby Herbertville Mine. In 1860, merchant Morris Brinn arrived in Sutter Creek with his brother, Nathan, and established a mercantile on Main St. Five years later, he bought this house and substantially built the two story building seen from Main Street today. A popular local restaurant through the 1970s, it is now the Brinn House at the Foxie - and the first time it’s been purchased by a woman rather than being inherited from a man.

A Victorian-inspired gathering space for up to six overnight guests, the Brinn House today honors its past by marrying antique furnishings passed through previous owners with modern amenities. You have access to all 3 rooms with queen beds (one downstairs and two upstairs) that each have a private bathroom with clawfoot tub and separate shower. All three rooms connect to the double parlor - perfect for lounging, dining, and board games! Access to our commercial kitchen and dining room requires reservations with our private chef. Our beautiful gardens and porches are the perfect location to gather with your loved ones and a local bottle of wine.

Located on the second floor of our Carriage House, a separate structure added in the 1970s by Roy and Minnie Fox who launched one of the first bed and breakfasts in the United States at this location, we offer several private suites with queen or king beds, private baths, and independent, exterior access. Only one king suite with separate living room is located on the first floor, behind the Brinn House, and accessed by a few steps.
